Below are the repair disclaimers and service policies for DJ’s Mobile Mechanic & Diagnostics. These guidelines ensure transparency, safety, and accuracy in every service I provide. Please review them before scheduling or approving repairs.
All prices listed are starting estimates. Final pricing may vary depending on the vehicle, condition, accessibility, part requirements, and additional labor discovered during the repair. Any changes in price will always be discussed and approved before work continues.
Diagnostic fees cover the time required to properly inspect and identify issues, including scanning, electrical testing, mechanical evaluation, and road testing. Diagnostic time is non-refundable even if repairs are not performed, as the service itself provides valuable information.
Certain repairs cannot be performed in a mobile environment due to safety, space, weather, or HOA restrictions. If a repair cannot be safely performed onsite, an alternative solution will be recommended. Conditions such as rain, extreme heat, lack of space, or unlevel ground may require rescheduling.
Customer-supplied parts are accepted but carry no warranty on fitment, performance, or failure. If a customer-supplied part is incorrect or defective, additional labor may apply. Warranty is only provided when DJ’s Mobile Mechanic supplies the parts. All parts must be present before service begins.
Warranty applies only to workmanship and only when parts are supplied by DJ’s Mobile Mechanic. Warranty does not cover used parts, customer-supplied parts, pre-existing issues, or failures related to worn components not replaced. All warranty work must be performed by DJ’s Mobile Mechanic.
By scheduling service, the customer authorizes the vehicle to be started, operated, moved, and road tested as needed for diagnostics or verification of repairs. Road tests are required to confirm proper function and safety.
During repairs, additional issues or unsafe conditions may be discovered. These findings will be communicated to the customer. Additional repairs will not be performed without approval. Repairing one issue does not guarantee other worn or failing components will not cause future problems.
Pre-existing fluid leaks or mechanical wear may require additional repairs for full resolution. Adding fluids during service is a temporary measure unless the root cause is corrected. Ongoing leaks may worsen during service due to brittle gaskets or aged components.
DJ’s Mobile Mechanic is not responsible for pre-existing mechanical damage, corrosion-related failures, broken bolts, previous improper repairs, or issues caused by customer-supplied parts. Liability is limited to the value of the service performed. No responsibility is taken for unrelated failures before or after repairs.
Service may be refused if the environment or vehicle is unsafe, if the parts are incorrect or poor-quality, or if the repair cannot be completed to a professional standard in a mobile setting. Safety is the top priority.
Estimates are based on the information available at the time. Prices may change if additional issues are discovered, parts differ from expected, or additional labor is required. The customer will be notified of any price changes before continuing.
Customers must provide:
A safe, flat work area
Access to the vehicle
Presence by phone during service
Pets and children kept away from the work zone
Failure to provide a safe environment may require rescheduling.
Repairs may be rescheduled due to weather conditions such as rain, wind, or extreme temperatures. These factors affect both safety and repair quality. Certain repairs cannot be completed in poor weather.
Vehicles must be parked in accessible locations with enough space to open doors, use tools, and safely position jacks and stands. Vehicles blocking traffic, located on hills, or in restricted areas may require relocation or rescheduling.
Payment is due upon completion of service. Accepted payment methods include cash and card (or other methods you choose). Unpaid balances, returned payments, or chargebacks may result in added fees or refusal of future service.
For repairs that require special-order parts, expensive components, or multiple hours of labor, a parts deposit is required before scheduling. This ensures that correct parts are purchased specifically for your vehicle and prevents delays or cancellations.
How deposits work:
Parts are paid upfront
Labor is paid only after the job is completed
Deposits apply to any repair requiring parts typically over $150
Deposits are standard practice for mobile mechanics and repair shops
If a customer chooses not to proceed with the repair after parts have been ordered, the deposit covers the cost of the purchased parts. Labor is never charged upfront.
